Interested in a Career in Real Estate?

Are You Looking For A Career That Offers:

  • Potential for high income?
  • Freedom to set your own schedule?
  • Opportunities to help people?
  • Challenging responsibilities?

Then look into real estate!

As a Space Coast REALTOR®, you will have a career that checks all of these boxes and more. Selling real estate in Brevard County also means working in sunny Florida every day and occasionally getting to watch a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Ready to get started on the road to becoming a Space Coast REALTOR®? If so, follow the steps outlined below.

How do I start my Brevard County real estate career?

Real estate agents must obtain a license form the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). FREC requires all applicants be at least 18-years-old and hold a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Applicants must also complete and pass a course approved by FREC. Once you complete the course and pass the end of course exam, you can take the Florida state exam to receive your license. A minimum score of 75 percent is required to pass the Florida state exam.

What is my next step after I pass my Florida real estate state exam?

When you pass the Florida state exam, you may activate your license at the exam site by turning in a completed Form 400.5. The broker of the firm where you will be placing your license, must sign the Form 400.5. When selecting a firm to place your license with, we strongly encourage you to select a REALTOR® member firm. A REALTOR® is an agent who, in addition to meeting state requirements, has chosen to become a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. By joining this organization, REALTORS® agree to follow a strict code of ethics. Consumers who hire REALTORS® can be sure they will be treated fairly and professionally. REALTORS® are the only agents allowed to use the “R” logo. The logo serves as a seal of approval and helps the public identify professional REALTORS®.
