Mediation Process
What is Mediation?
The Mediation process brings the two parties together with a Mediator to discuss potential misunderstandings, address their concerns, and aid in helping the parties reach a mutual resolution on their own prior to a formal Ethics or Arbitration Hearing by the Professional Standard’s Tribunal Hearing Panel.
In a “Commission Dispute” or a dispute regarding an offer of compensation listed in the MLS, the Space Coast Association of REALTORS® offers a
voluntary Mediation process prior to scheduling a formal Arbitration Hearing.
Intra-Office disputes between an Agent and their Broker may also request Mediation. However, it is a
voluntary process as well. Most Brokers have office procedures that typically cover this type of controversy.
Mediation is also offered in an Ethics Complaint. The parties can be a consumer (member of the public) vs. a REALTOR®, or a REALTOR® vs. REALTOR®.
